What is the Miss Sierra Vista Foundation?

About Miss America

The Miss America Organization (MAO) is the world's largest competitive scholarship program for young women and one of the nation's leading achievment programs.  Each year, tens of thousands of Miss America volunteers generate more than 500,000 hours of service to over 12,000 community service projects making Miss America one of the strongest service organizations in the country.

Participation in the Miss America program empowers young women to achieve their personal and professional goals, while providing a forum in which to use their talents and intelligence to advance a national platform dedicated to making a difference in the lives of America's youth.  At every level of the program, Miss America's contestants receive thousands of dollars in scholarships and gain poise, confidence, and life skills that benefit them throughout their lives.

About Miss America's Outstanding Teen

Founded in 2005, Miss America’s Outstanding Teen (MAOTeen) has become one of the top scholarship providers for teen girls in the United States! Considered the "little sister" of the Miss America Organization, all of the Outstanding Teen participants, on the local, state, and national levels, have been the recipients of valuable scholarship assistance upon graduation from high school. In just a few short years, MAOTeen has made available almost $5,000,000 in cash and in-kind scholarships.

About Miss Sierra Vista & Miss Sierra Vista's Outstanding Teen

The Miss Sierra Vista Scholarship Foundation's mission is to provide scholarship assistance to the young women of Sierra Vista.  We are dedicated to empowering young women to help them achieve their personal, professional and educational goals. The young women who participate in this program develop a ''platform'', a community service issue that each one will donate her time to promoting. They also promote the national platform of the Miss America and Outstanding Teen Organizations, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.  During her year of service, Miss Sierra Vista and Miss Sierra Vista's Outstanding Teen serve as ambassadors for the community, assisting and promoting where ever they are needed.
