Congratulations to Anna Chinen, Miss Sierra Vista 2008. I know that our new Miss Sierra Vista will be a wonderful representative for our community and I am looking forward to see what she will bring to the title. For all this years contestants, I can not tell you how proud of you I am. You all did an incredible job. Each and every one of you is a very special young woman and I know great things will happen for each and every one of you. I would like to congratulate and thank Maggie Giuffrida, Miss Sierra Vista 2007 for doing an exemplary job during her year of service. She has been gracious and giving in her duties as Miss Sierra Vista and has represented our community well. Underneath that cool and calm exterior is a young woman who knows what she wants and will do what ever it takes to achieve it. I wish her the best but know with certainty there will be great things in Maggie’s future. To my Board, Larry, Dee, Jan and Donna, thank you for all you do. To my hostesses, you are an awesome group of women. Thank you. For everyone that helps make this program a success – thank you. A very special thank you to my husband and the webmaster, David Wills. I know it’s not easy but thank you for your support. The Miss Sierra Vista Program is very fortunate – we are one of the few programs in the state where our title holder is truly supported by the community. Thank you for your generosity and your willingness to open your arms and hearts to the young women you participate in this program. This program would not be able to do what we do with out you. But, let’s not forget why we do all this – and that is to provide scholarships to the young women who have the courage and self confidence to participate. This year our six contestants shared in over $6,000 in cash scholarships with special scholarships being awarded by Cochise College and The San Pedro Kiwanis. Thanks to everyone for a great pageant.
